Tips for a Safe and Fun Halloween!

Pumpkins are being carved, costumes are being purchased, and October 31st is less than a week away. Here at Doggie Detail, we wanted to share some of our favourite resources to help keep your furry family members safe this Halloween!

Halloween for Dogs

Gus and Ollie are ready for Halloween! Are you?

1. When dressing up your dog, make sure the costume fits well (not too loose, not too tight), that there are no choking hazards and that your dog is supervised while in costume.

2. Make sure your dog remains safely indoors and its ID tag is up-to-date. Loud noises, excited children, and frequently opening the door for trick-or-treaters might cause your dog to spook and dart.

3. Halloween treats that are suitable for people are not safe choices for your dog. Remember that chocolate is a no-no for dogs (chocolate contains theobromine, which can be toxic and potentially fatal for pets). Lollipops, hard candies, and wrappers can present a choking hazard.
