It helps with the composting process. Our composting process is very different from typical backyard composting because of the sheer volume of waste we collect. To kill off the harmful bacteria and pathogens, the compost pile needs to reach temperatures of at least 140 degrees for minimum five days. These conditions can not be met using backyard composting methods. We surpass the recommended temperatures and hold them for several months.
